Ryan Mansholt, PA-C, grew up in rural southern Illinois. He began his career in sports medicine and orthopedics by receiving his undergraduate degree in athletic training from Illinois State University. He then followed his passion for sports medicine to Cardiff, Wales where he had the opportunity to study biomechanics and exercise physiology at the Sports University at Cardiff-Wales. Ryan continued to pursue his medical education at Rosalind Franklin University of Health and Sciences, earning a Master’s Degree and becoming a certified Physician assistant.
After graduating, Ryan spent the next six years of his career focusing on orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, working with several prominent orthopedic surgeons in the Chicagoland area. Areas of surgical focus included spine, total joints, trauma, sports medicine, and arthroscopic surgery.
In 2013, Ryan had the opportunity to live out his lifelong dream of moving to the beautiful state of Colorado. At this time, his career focus changed to physical medicine rehabilitation and pain management. He has spent the last five years treating a variety of acute and chronic injury patients. Areas of interest include worker’s compensation, auto, and managing complex acute and chronic pain patients.
Ryan believes in treating his patients like family. He prides himself in treating the whole person and not just the injured body part. He uses a multi-modal approach to manage acute and chronic injury with the goal of decreasing pain, increasing function, and improving overall quality of life.
Ryan lives in Denver with his wife Elizabeth, and their two pugs- Phoebe and Samwise. He loves spending free time with his family in the mountains skiing, backpacking, camping, seeing live music at Red Rocks and enjoying everything the gorgeous state of Colorado has to offer.
